Flagship Studios Closes

The studio that is behind games such as Mythos and Hellgate: London, Flagship Studios, is closing doors. The reasons aren’t clear yet, but it seems that they tried to do too much and too fast with Hellgate: London.

This is what an ex-employee had to say in the Something Awful forums:

Flagship bit off way more than they could chew and made a lot of development and structural mistakes in how they went about things. They had a lot of big dreamers on staff, but not enough nitty-gritty people who knew how to get poo poo done. It sucks, but that’s life I guess.

Mythos will be taken over by HanbitSoft, a Korean company, while the future of Hellgate: London is unknown right now, with rights belonging to a money firm called Comerica.

Update: it appears that they will no longer close doors, but will have problems with HanbitSoft because of this. Read here.
