A game that will be launched on February 6, 2009, Empire: Total War is made by the guys from Creative Assembly. They recently launched Stormrise, so they should have all the free time they need to finish Empire: Total War.
It leaked on the ESRB site. If you go there and type "Grand" in the search box it will show you that GTA 4 will also be launched on the PC. Brilliant news for me and other PC gamers.
Update: it seems that the Windows PC mention was removed from the ESRB site, so it might’ve been a mistake on their part. I really hope that’s not the case though.
The game that I’m waiting most this year, Fallout 3, has a new trailer that was released by Bethesda and a few review sites managed to get their hands on the game at E3 and play it quite a bit.
The studio that is behind games such as Mythos and Hellgate: London, Flagship Studios, is closing doors. The reasons aren’t clear yet, but it seems that they tried to do too much and too fast with Hellgate: London.
Flagship bit off way more than they could chew and made a lot of development and structural mistakes in how they went about things. They had a lot of big dreamers on staff, but not enough nitty-gritty people who knew how to get poo poo done. It sucks, but that’s life I guess.
Mythos will be taken over by HanbitSoft, a Korean company, while the future of Hellgate: London is unknown right now, with rights belonging to a money firm called Comerica.
Update: it appears that they will no longer close doors, but will have problems with HanbitSoft because of this. Read here.
