Here they are, the first two screenshots from the Deus Ex 3 game. It’s going to be in development for a while, but I’m looking forward to it anyway.

Alright, so I played Fallout 3 and I finished it just now. Overall, the game is good, but I had higher expectations from it, so for me it’s a little disappointing. I’m really looking forward for the Construction Set to be released, so I can start the game over.

The good parts:

• a lot of options in-game. You can be the bad guy or the good guy and finish the game how you like.
• you do what you want: do the main quest, or just the secondary ones. Explore the Wasteland or try to finish the game, it’s your choice. Watch it though, when you finish the main quest the game ends.

What bothered me:

• the game ends when you finish the main quest. This annoyed me as hell. I was expecting this to be a game with no end if you want it to be this way. I thought that after I made the main quest I could still go out and explore the rest of the Wasteland, do the rest of the quests and so on. Maybe because I did the same with the Elder Scrolls series, and I shouldn’t have expected the same thing here, but it still annoys me. I would’ve played the game for at least 10 more hours to see what I’ve missed if it didn’t end.
• dialog boxes and inventory don’t show all the options, you have to scroll down a lot to find what you’re looking for. This problem was in Oblivion also, so I guess it’s universal with Bethesda products.
• no sleeping in the Wasteland, unless you can find a tent or an abandoned bed. This kind’off blows. The amount of sleep depravation that was forced on my character would make a grown man cry.
• no wife in Fallout 3? I didn’t play Fallout 2, but I understood that you could have a wife there, so why not here as well?
• couldn’t find the damn sniper rifle. Not exactly something that can be found easily.

Overall, the game was OK, but to fully reach its potential it needs the Construction Set to be released. Oblivion had tens of thousands of mods released by the community and I played it for months because of that.

Without the Construction Set, the mods that can be made are limited unfortunately. You can find a few basic ones here, including a better sniper rifle, 10mm pistol, power armor and a few others.

Yes! This is the announcement I was waiting for, even if the launch is 2 years away. Until Morrowind and Oblivion, no other game has ever kept me in front of the computer for so long. The success of the Elder Scrolls games (as far as I’m concerned at least) is brought by the Construction Set and the impressive community of modders that use it.

It’s the reason I play Fallout 3 these days, even though I haven’t played the previous versions. I play it because I expect a Construction Editor to come out, and the modders to go wild, creating objects, NPC’s, towns and new worlds based on this game.

Though I would be interested of buying a Wii just to experience the next Elder Scrolls game in a new way, they don’t seem to be interested in this platform, with plans to release it only for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

Now, Microsoft decided not to release Fallout 3 in India at all, since some of the content might offend the Indians.

“Microsoft constantly endeavours to bring the best games to Indian consumers in sync with their international release. However, in light of cultural sensitivities in India, we have made the business decision to not bring Fallout 3 into the country.”

It really pisses me off when stuff like this happens. A small group of idiots that feel offended in their religion or sensibilities make sure that nobody can play the game like it was meant. Now an entire game can’t be found in India because of them, and we’re talking about a great game here. Too bad.

Played a bit with the Space Siege demo today. A bit short for my taste, but then again, I wouldn’t have the patience to play this game to the end.

Don’t get me wrong, it’s not a bad game, especially if you’re a Diablo fan. It’s a point and shoot game against alien invaders, attracted to our planet by our advance through the stars. The year is 2206 and Earth is screwed, or at least that’s the basis of the game.

I actually liked the cybernetic implants and the weapons aren’t that bad, but I got the feeling it’s just a game of numbers, continuously getting bigger and bigger numbers of enemies to fight. If you like that kind of game, then this might work for you.

Space Siege is a game for the fans of the genre, but it’s not for everyone as far as I’m concerned.

First impression rating is a 6.5 out of a possible 10.

And here is the in game footage from GameVideos.com. Love the teddy bears thrown at enemies with the Rock-It Launcher. He! So far, everyone that played it said that the game was superb, so keeping my fingers crossed for this fall and hope it will be released on time.
